DegreeWorks is a web-based program of (CUNY) The City University of New York Degreeworks, that enables you to easily track your academic progress. With DegreeWorks students can now see how specific College requirements have been met and what courses can be taken for fulfilling the requirement. You will also be able to see how your academic requirements might change if you were to change your major with the click of a tab (the ‘What If’ feature).
DegreeWorks – CUNYfirst Login
Now that you’re done creating your account and activating it, you should be able to log into your DegreeWorks/CUNYfirst account. To log in/sign in to DegreeWorks, follow the steps below

Before you proceed to log in to your CUNY account, you should register an account with the same. After registration, you should be sent an email to your registered mail account with the credentials to log in to your CUNY account. To register with the DegreeWorks

In case you forget your USER NAME,
➔ On the CUNY login page, click on the Forgot Username tab.
➔ In the next page, you should be asked for your personal details as shown below Enter your personal details asked and click on Continue button.
➔ Your USER NAME will be displayed on the next page.

EMPLID is the unique CUNY identification number assigned to every student, faculty and staff member in CUNYfirst.
● Assists in determining the requirements you need to fulfill to complete your degree.
● Aids in viewing course goals of an individual, cumulative grade-point average (GPA), and major average.
● Determine which courses you have taken or transferred, and which ones count as electives.
● View transfer credits, waivers, and exemptions applied toward the degree.
● See how your coursework can be applied toward another major, minor, certificate or major concentration using the ‘What If’ option.
● Confirm your academic standing.
● Estimating the number of semesters for graduating.
● Helps in learning the requisites for your courses by clicking on the course number
SEP stands for Student Educational Planner and it’s the newest feature of DegreeWorks, as of July 2017. SEP allows students and advisors to plan courses for every semester of enrollment to ensure that your program can be completed within the time allotted. If you are a student who is interested in having a SEP plan created, you should talk to your academic advisor.
The CUNY Login page locks an account after five failed login attempts. You should wait for a solid 60 mins before you attempt to login to your account again. It is wise to use the “Forgot Password” option after the fourth failed attempt
